COURSE CODE: 46715

COURSE TYPE: OPTIONAL

ΕCTS: 5

SEMESTER: 7TH  | WINTER

COURSE LANGUAGE: GREEK | ENGLISH

SYLLABUS

Main object of the module is the creation of a short digital film. The purpose of the module is double: on the one hand, the students’ familiarisation with the processes of film creation, with a focus to film direction; on the other, students’ research for their personal point of view and style. The students work through all the steps of film creation: from the initial concept and screen-writing, location scouting and casting, and découpage, to the processes of shooting a film, including cinematography and actor direction, and then, editing, sound-mixing, and all the post-production processes. The students are encouraged to draw on their dreams and memories, in order to both gather material for their films and put the bases for their own approach to filmmaking. The module is structured into steps-exercises, the final of which is the complete film. At the end of the semester, each student submits a FILM and an accompanying PORTFOLIO.

Structuring of the course into steps-exercises:
1.        Brainstorming
2.        Screen-writing
3.        Pre-production
4.        Decoupage
5.        Shooting
6.        Post-production
