ACADEMIC CALENDAR

For both undergraduate and postgraduate studies the academic year at the NKUA begins on the1^st of September, ends on the 31^st of August. Each semester comprises at least thirteen (13) weeks of courses. Semester exams take place in January-February (for all courses of the fall semester) and June-July (for all courses of the spring semester). A third exam period (resit) is offered in September for the students that have failed on the previous exams periods of the academic year.

2025-2026 Academic Calendar Schedule

The academic year 2025-26 is divided into:

• the fall semester (from October to mid January)
• the fall semester exam period (from mid January to mid February)
• the spring semester (from February to May)
• the spring semester exam period (from mid June to early July) and
• the re-sit examination period (September)

During the summer period of July only special undergratuate or intensive postgraduate programs run. For the rest of the students it’s a vacation period. During the summer period of August the Department is closed.

Fall semester period

• Teaching Period: September 29, 2025 - January 9, 2026 (13 weeks)
• Make-up Classes: January 12, 2026 - January 16, 2026
• Examination Period: January 19, 2026 - February 13, 2026 (4 weeks)

Spring semester period

• Teaching Period: February 16, 2026 - May 29, 2026 (13 weeks)
• Make-up Classes: June 2, 2026 - June 5, 2026
• Examination Period: June 8, 2026  - July 3, 2026 (4 weeks)

Re-sit examination period:  Tuesday 01/09/2026 - Wednesday 30/09/2026

• Student Elections: The School will be closed on the election day and the day after.
