COURSE CODE: 46502

COURSE TYPE: COMPULSORY

ΕCTS: 5

SEMESTER: 4TH  | SPRING

COURSE LANGUAGE: GREEK | ENGLISH

SYLLABUS

This course aims to introduce students to the basic principles that govern the composition of forms in three-dimensional space.

Indicative modules of the course:

  • Basic three-dimensional shapes, geometric constructions and transformations
  • Two-dimensional representation and three-dimensional construction of plastic composition, collage/assemblage
  • Three-dimensional and three-dimensional representation of the organic and inorganic, void and full, the concept of scale, materials and materials and textures in plastic composition
  • Synthesis of three-dimensional forms with a variety of materials and techniques.

For an optimal understanding of the concepts, the practical and empirical dimension of experiential aspects of the course, exercises will be carried out in the composition of two- and three-dimensional forms with analog and digital media. The course is an introductory experience in a visual arts studio, with an emphasis on structural and spatial exploration of three-dimensional form through a variety of design, media and construction. Students are required to develop manual dexterity and skill methodology and capacity to present their projects, while developing flexibility in problem solving and idea generation.
