SYLLABUS


Through the process of patient observation and physical assessment of compositions, the aim of the Course is to familiarize and deepen through color and expanded means of visual language.

The Course provides:

  • Reflection on issues of aesthetics and art theory, with the aim of personal artistic idiom.
  • Expansion of design language through the use of color after students' first exposure to the fundamentals of drawing in the course Drawing I.
  • Ability to recognize basic elements of drawing, color and composition.
  • Familiarity with a comprehensive approach to painting from sketching, drawing, to color application.

Students combine research and experimentation in materials and techniques to their practice application and implementation and they synthesize knowledge and skills through thematic exercises for the next stages of their course. They approach aesthetic considerations for the relationship between physical reality and artistic practice.
